From the East
December 2022
Brothers,
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as the Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge #94 these past two years. Thank you for entrusting me to sit in the East.
It has been a busy two years. We recovered from the Covid shutdown of 2020 without any cancellation of meetings in 2021-2022.
We resumed Degree Work, Initiating and Passing two new Brothers in Acacia Lodge, then Raising them during Degree Work held at the Grand Lodge, with eight Acacia Lodge Brothers in attendance and three of those taking a part in the Degree Work. Many thanks to Brothers Blake McSwain and Lyth Clark for coaching the Benson brothers to the successful completion of their Degrees.
Acacia Lodge continues to grow its membership, as we have an Entered Apprentice who is in the process of resuming his Degree path with Acacia Lodge, and two Master Masons who have re-affiliated with Acacia Lodge.
We held a profitable fund raiser in June 2022 with the Fish Fry, our first since Covid caused closings and cancellations among Lodges.
We voted to take a positive step in our financial future by re-investing some of our funds with Edward Jones Investments for future growth potential.
Several Brothers assisted in providing Masonic Rites for departed Brothers over the past two years
We weathered storms and challenges not only from the pandemic, but also from within. During the Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of SC in 2022, we witnessed the historic Masonic trial and subsequent removal of a Past Grand Master, which should serve as a cautionary warning to all Brothers to recommit to practicing Harmony within our Lodge.
Now, it is my pleasure to pass on the gavel to Right Worshipful Brother Jeff Hall, whom I am sure will skillfully guide Acacia Lodge.
Best wishes to all elected officers for 2023. I look forward to the years to come in Acacia Lodge.
The future is bright indeed!
Jeff Triplett, PM
